Keta-Akatsi Diocese honours Health Workers
Seven Health Workers in the Keta-Akatsi Diocese, were recently honoured by the Diocesan Health Service, during the launch of the 25th World Day of the Sick at the St. Anne’s Polyclinic at Tegadzi-Dorfor.
Dr. Lumor Kudzo Kugbey, Principal Medical Officer of the Sacred Heart Hospital, Abor, was adjudged the overall Best Worker in the Diocese for the year 2016 while Ms. Edith Mawufemor Kukanu, Senior Staff Midwife at the St, Anthony’s Hospital, Dzodze, emerged the first runner-up.
The rest were Ms. Josephine Ewoenam Vogbelor, Senior Midwifery Officer at the Sacred Heart Hospital; Mr. Daniel Kodzo Gemegah of the Dzelukope Hospital; Mr. James Senanu Godor, Senior Accountant at the Richard Novarte Catholic Hospital; Ms. Iris Aku Adrane, Principal Midwifery Officer at St. Anne’s Polyclinic and Ms. Vera Sarfoa Nyarko, Senior Community Health Nurse at Cuniberto Clinic at Lume.
The Awardees were presented with Citations and various items including Plasma TV, Fridges and Cookers.
Very Rev. Fr. Paul Dzumador, Chancellor of the Keta-Akatsi Diocese, thanked the Health Workers in the Diocese for their good work, urging them to respect the dignity of the sick and help them experience Christ’s healing.
The Executive Director for Health in the Diocese, Mr. Christian Akoto-Brown, commended the Awardees and the Health Workers for their efforts, calling on them to appreciate the sick, pray for them and work to alleviate their pain.
Mr. Godor on behalf of the Awardees thanked the organisers for the honour done them.
