135 Commissioned After Life In The Spirit Seminar

A spiritually enriching ten-week Life in the Spirit Seminar (LSS), held under the auspices of the Bishop of the Keta-Akatsi Diocese, Most Rev. Gabriel Edoe Kumordji, SVD, has concluded successfully at the St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church in Abor.
The seminar attracted approximately 145 participants, out of which 135 successfully completed the programmes and were commissioned to live renewed Christian lives under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
The Life in the Spirit Seminar is a Catholic Charismatic initiative that seeks to reawaken the presence and power of the Holy Spirit in the lives of believers through structured teachings, prayer, and spiritual exercises.
This was the first LSS of its kind in Abor, inspired by Mr. Stephen Van Amuzu, a dedicated lay leader in the parish. His proposal followed the completion and dedication of a new Chapel. The Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Stephen Avinu, embraced and supported the initiative wholeheartedly.
The Seminar was facilitated by a joint team of experienced resource persons from Ho and the Keta-Akatsi Diocese. It was led by Rev. Sr. Cecilia Clare Kudexa, SMMC, a native of Abor and a seasoned charismatic leader. She worked alongside members of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal (CCR) to deliver a Spirit-filled experience.
Participants were taken through eight core teachings, covering foundational topics such as God’s love, salvation, the Holy Spirit, and growth in Christian life. These sessions were complemented by moments of healing, deliverance, quiet reflection, and intercessory prayer. A major highlight was the praying over session, during which many experienced a powerful outpouring of the Holy Spirit, leading to profound personal transformations.
The commissioning ceremony was presided over by Fr. Avinu.
Meanwhile, a parallel LSS at the Akatsi Parish ended successfully on Trinity Sunday, with the commissioning officiated by Rev. Fr. Theophilus Ayivor, supported by Rev. Fr. Paul Dzumador, Cathedral Administrator.
Parishioners across both parishes expressed the desire for more Spirit-led programmes in the Church. The Diocese of Keta-Akatsi continues to nurture a vibrant, prayerful faith community, deeply rooted in Scripture and open to the movements of the Holy Spirit through such impactful initiatives.
