Obuasi Diocese Gets Two New Priests

Two new diocesan Priests have been ordained for the Obuasi Diocese at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church at Anyinam in Obuasi.

The new Priests, namely, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Adusei Frimpong and Rev. Fr. Edmond Osei Sarfo, hail from Adansi Akofroum and Anyinam respectively and are products of the St. Gregory the Great Seminary at Parkoso.

The ordination Mass was presided over by the Most Rev. Gregory John Hartmaryer, the Archbishop of Atlanta in Georgia in the Southeast of the United States of America. He was assisted by Most Rev. John Yaw Afoakwah, the Bishop of Obuasi, and several Priests of the Diocese.

The ordination was attended by about 850 congregants comprising families, friends and well-wishers of the newly ordained priests. In attendance were women and men religious and some members of Papal Knights and Dames in the Kumasi Ecclesiastical Province.

In his homily, Archbishop Gregory said, by virtue of ordination priests “are configured to Christ the Priest, yet they “remain always imperfect men who struggle to preserve in our faith”. He therefore urged “priests and dispensers of the sacred mysteries” to become model of the Church and Eucharistic virtues.

The new Priests have since celebrated their thanksgiving Masses at their respective hometowns.
