Ghana Bishops Gather for Synodal Assembly in Damongo

The Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference opens its Annual Plenary Assembly this week under the theme: A Synodal Church at the Service of Justice and Peace, bringing together the nation’s Catholic leaders for a week of prayer, dialogue, and discernment.

The assembly, hosted by Bishop Peter Paul Y. Angkyier in Damongo, officially opens on Monday, November 10, at the Conference Hall of Unity Center, running through Friday, November 14.
The gathering reflects the bishops’ commitment to embracing the synodal vision of Pope Francis while addressing pressing concerns of justice and peace in Ghanaian society. The week will culminate in a closing ceremony at St. Anne’s Cathedral, Damongo, on Friday, November 14.

Catholics worldwide can follow the proceedings via livestream on Depsocom, the pastoral communications office of the Bishops’ Conference.

The Annual Plenary assembly serves as a key moment for Ghana’s bishops to chart the pastoral direction of the Church and respond to contemporary challenges facing the faithful.
