Yendi Diocese holds Pastoral Council Meeting

The Yendi Diocese recently organised a Diocesan Pastoral Council (DPC) Meeting to deliberate on issues affecting its Pastoral life.
In his welcome address, Most Rev. Vincent Sowah Boi-Nai, SVD, Bishop of the Diocese, encouraged participants to share ideas and contribute actively at the meeting to move the Diocese forward.
He reminded members of the DPC to work towards the 20th Anniversary celebration of the Diocese in 2019.
Rev. Fr. Camillo A. Bonsurii, the Chairman of the DPC, led participants through the discussions which centred on resolutions that were reached at the last Biennial Meeting of the Tamale Ecclesiastical Province Partnership Conference (TEPPCON) and preparations towards the Diocese’s 20th Anniversary.
At the end of the three-day Meeting, participants came out with action plans including pursuing a vigorous vocation promotion, striving to make the Local Church of Yendi Diocese self-reliant and setting up of Committees for an early planning of the 20th anniversary.
Others were undertaking a robust pre-and-post Baptismal Catechesis, encouraging the laity to patronise spiritual programmes and centres such as the Grotto, Ordinations and the Chrism Mass.
