Tamale Ola Akan Society Donates To Shekhinah Clinic
The St. Vincent de Paul Akan society at the Our Lady of Annunciation Cathedral in Tamale,
recently donated toilet rolls, washing powder, used clothing and cash of GH¢1,000.00 to
Shekhinah Clinic for the Poor and Destitute, a charity clinic based in Tamale. The donation
formed part of the activities to celebrate their Feast Day.
Mrs. Charity Abrafi Mensah, the Treasurer, on behalf of the Society, presented the donation
which was received by Madam Zulaiha Mohammed, a volunteer, on behalf of the Executive
Director, inmates and staff of the facility. She expressed their profound gratitude for the gesture.
Present at the ceremony were Mr. Augustine Opoku-Annin, the President, Mr. Isaac Gyimah the
Vice President, Mr. Gabriel Owusu Amponsah, the Secretary and other executives of the
Society.
As part of the celebration, the Chaplain of the Tamale Teaching Hospital, Rev. Fr. Anthony
Kankam Frimpong, led members in a 3-day revival. Other activities undertaken included aerobic
exercises and sweeping and cleaning of the Cathedral premises. The celebration was climaxed
with a Mass presided over by Rev. Fr. Anthony Bebe Guo, the Youth Chaplain of the Cathedral.
