JPIC launches 10th Anniversary
The Tenth Anniversary of the Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation (JIPC), was recently launched at a Mass at the Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Asokwa in Kumasi by Rev. Fr. Peter Kabutey, SVD, National Co-ordinator of JIPC.
Fr. Kabutey encouraged the Co-ordinators not to relent in their efforts in promoting peace and justice in Ghana, calling on the faithful to always seek justice and peace in all their endeavours.
It was part of the Annual General Meeting of the National Co-ordinators of JIPC in Kumasi to evaluate the activities of the organization in the past year and plan for the future.
The Congress was attended by eighteen delegates from the various major Religious Orders in Ghana and their collaborators to consolidate their commitment to social justice and build a network for greater collaboration.
The delegates visited and donated some items to the Kumasi Central and the Manhyia Prisons. They also interacted with inmates encouraging them to trust in God.
A major issue of concern was the overcrowded and poor sanitation of the Prisons and the harsh working environment of the Prison Wardens.
The Officers on duty who received the items thanked the group for the gesture.
